40 Melton Road, Oakham
Nine therapists. Six rooms. One door.
A group practice of qualified counsellors and psychotherapists in the centre of Oakham – with real depth in complex trauma, couples work and neurodiversity, and the range to match you to the right person.
Who runs the centre
UKCP
Sally Atkinson
UKCP-registered integrative psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and tutor on the MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy at SPTI.
Sally has built this practice over many years, and she still does the thing she is best at: bringing well-trained therapists into the profession and helping them establish themselves. She works integratively, relationally and developmentally – interested in your relational history from birth, and in what the relationship formed in the room reveals about the unconscious processes still operating in your adult life, often driving the patterns you cannot seem to stop repeating.
Her own clinical work is now with complex presentations: complex trauma, dissociative disorders and attachment. She trains therapists in trauma and relational approaches to trauma with Carolyn Spring at Yellow Frog Psychotherapy Training.

'It's the relationship which heals.' That belief runs through everything here – in the room, in supervision, and in how new therapists are brought on.
Sally's own availability is very limited. She is not taking on new clients other than in exceptional circumstances. If you have found your way here looking for therapy, the people to talk to are the therapists at the centre – all qualified, between them covering most of what you are likely to need, and with rather more room in their diaries.

A note on the landmark. The building was for many years described as 'above Rutland Radio'. Rutland Radio has gone. Look instead for the green door, between the shopfronts, directly across from the station approach.
Make an enquiry
Tell us a little, and we'll point you to the right person.
Enquiries come to the centre and we route them to the therapist best placed to help – by speciality, by availability and by how you want to work. You are welcome to approach a therapist directly instead if you already know who you want to see.
The more you can tell us, the better the match. It helps to know a brief outline of what is going on for you now, any relevant history you already know about, what kind of therapy you are looking for – short-term, long-term, weekly – and what you are able to commit to.
We aim to reply within 48 hours where possible.
